We are inundated by IT. It's all around us. Everywhere we look/go/websites/texts/social media...and on and on. Here's our twist on IT.
Inspiration and Transformation
Our committee idea was inspired and transformed from our original idea (maybe we'll save that for another year or maybe we'll just call it an inspiration and jumping off place to welcome this idea) and has been newly inspired by the 2024-25 theme of Transformations at Winterthur. (link below)
Let your inspiration transform your creation. Open to your interpretation and creativity. Is there a particular piece of art you are inspired by? flower? landscape? What inspires you? A particular genre'? A favorite book? Art piece? Style of painting? A person? Have that idea inspire you and transform your creation (quilt, soft sculpture, bag, runner, pillow, etc.) This is your inspiration and transformation. No size limitations. Let your imagination and inspiration take you away. By the November business meeting, please submit to the committee an approximate size of your piece (for determining display size requirements at the holiday party). At the reveal, please include a photo of your inspiration and a brief description of what inspired you.
A separate email will share some photos of inspiration and transformations from the Winterthur exhibit. We will be sharing art, inspirations, and ideas throughout the year. Please feel free to share art, links, displays, ideas throughout the year to share inspirations with the guild.
