MEMORY BAGS St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia has requested our help in providing them with Memory Bags for families whose children have passed away. The bags are used to present the families with all the child’s personal effects remaining from their time at the hospital. The bags are similar to an envelope style with an overlapping flap and a catch for closure, such as a snap, Velcro, button, etc. The bags are approximately: a height of 10 ½ inches, a width of 14 ½ to 17½ inches. The over flap (envelope flap) is approximately 3 ½ inches from closing fold to snap attaching to body of bag. The material can be knitted, crocheted, quilted (or not). Preferably white. Embellishments are up to you. The examples in the charity collection have serged edges (but that doesn’t mean they have to be serged). Pictured below are the sizes and style of bag we have in our charity collection at this time.
