Talk about pricing. Determine what is included – batting, thread, trimming, shipping, tax – and what isn’t included.
Discuss a deadline.
Ask about which one of you will trim quilt (perimeter) edges
Do you need binding services? Discuss binding services & rates.
Identify /provide inspiration images or quilting motifs you like and inform if there are any motifs that the longarmer should not use.
Share thread color ideas and batting preferences.
Confirm delivery method.
Prep quilt for quilting:
Assure backing fabric is 4-5” larger on all sides
Press backing seams open
Iron top and backing
Mark orientation of quilt top and backing (if necessary)
Remove any buttons/embellishments
